Join us for a 10-month comprehensive training or choose individual modules that work for you.
The Center Sage Teacher Training integrates the wisdom of yoga with the fun of group fitness to prepare you to safely lead multi-modality group fitness classes including Sage Fit 90!
Training runs January - October in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.

Training Modules
Yoga (100 hours)
Yoga is the foundation of everything we do. This training consists of 100 hrs of vinyasa yoga specifics, enough to prepare you to lead safe and intentional Sage Fit classes and be ready to finish your YA RYT-200 later on.
Cycling (50 hours)
Cycling is a safe and fun way for most bodies to increase their cardiovascular endurance and leg strength. This training covers roughly 50 hours on how to lead effective, accessible, and fun group cycling classes.
Strength (50 hours)
Strength rounds out our training, ensuring students have full understanding of the proper form and mechanics for leading strength-based classes such as bootcamp, cardiolab, and other beat-based methods.
Meet the Team
Our primary instructor is Kayla Hersperger. She is supported by a fantastic team that has decades of experience in teaching multi-modality classes. Guest teachers will also tag in when their expertise is beneficial.
Training Schedule Outline
We meet Saturdays 8a - 5p & Sundays 10a - 4p in person, with zoom meetings two weeknights/month.
January 10-11: Body
Anatomy, actions of the body, authenticity of voice, asana lab
April 18-19: Musicality
Playlists, choreography, timing, themes, asana lab
July 18-19: Strength Intensive
Muscles, variations, form, exercises, weight load, class formats
February 21-22: Yoga Intensive
Eight limbs, ethics, philosophy, sutras, history, asana lab, assists
May 23-24: Cycle Intensive
Meet at Studio Z Cycle: setup, form, positions, themes, structure, variation
August 16-17: Multi-Modality Sync
Bring it all together, learn the structure of Sage Fit 90 class
March 21-22: Breath
Meditation, pranayama, subtle body, sequencing, asana lab
June 20-21: Inclusion
Accessibility, equity, language, pre/post-natal, appropriation
September 19-20: Synthesis
Auditions, resume, marketing, insurance, exam prep
October 24-25: Exams, Final Teach, Graduation

Instructors are best informed to lead multi-modality group fitness when their understanding stems from a yoga background, therefore, this training builds from a base of stability, proper form, and the mind/body connection.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’m already a yoga teacher, can I only attend the modules about cycling and strength?
Absolutely! The training is modular, so you can pick and choose which topics you’re interested in. Each standalone module is $350.
Why would I choose this training over others?
This training is for people who want more than just a yoga education but who understand the value of approaching fitness and the body from a yoga perspective. This training is comprehensive and doesn’t exist anywhere else. When you complete your 200 hours here, you will be prepared to lead Sage Fit classes as well as group classes in studios and gyms.
I want to complete my Yoga Alliance RYT-200 yoga teacher training so why would I choose this training?
This training is a comprehensive fitness instructor training that contains 100 hours of yoga-specific content. After this training, you can add an additional 100 hours once the Center Sage Fitness Collective is an official YA certified Yoga School.
What certification do I receive when I finish this training? Can I use this certification at other studios?
You will be certified through the Center Sage Fitness Collective and be prepared to teach our signature Sage Fit classes. You will receive a certification signed by Kayla Hersperger, RYT-500, that states you are well equipped to lead group fitness. This training is comprehensive, so you can expect to be more than prepared to lead group fitness classes in a multitude of settings. But don’t take our word for it!
